Nainital Trip – a perfect blend of Leisure, Luxury and Beauty
 |
Snow-capped Himalayan Peaks |
After back to back trip to the UP, Gujrat, Rajasthan and MP, a trip to hills was on cards for quite some time, but somehow, the destination was not getting finalised as some people were for touristy destinations, while others were for some offbeat places. Finally, instead of offbeat destinations, the scales tilted in favour of touristy places and the destinations finalised were Nainital and Ranikhet. We are were to meet at Delhi and the drive down to Nainital just after Lunch. This proved to be a wrong decision because Delhi NCR traffic took its toll and we were delayed a lot. We had informed the hotel about our delayed arrival.
Finally, we reached The Seasons Resort at 11.30 pm. We were feeling guilty of having kept the staff waiting, but we were welcomed with broad smiles. The smiles and lit up faces of the staff bore the promise of a wonderful stay. The welcome drinks were served and the check in was super smooth. The staff who escorted me to my room was very courteous and showed me to the lake view room. The Seasons Resort is a luxury boutique hotel with lake and hill view rooms that offer beautiful vistas. Mine was Lake view and the reflections of lights playing on the beautifully. The rooms were Luxurious and well appointed.

After freshening up we came to the restaurant for dinner. The dinner was delicious, but what was important was that even at this godforsaken hour, the entire staff was serving with love and smile and the food had been prepared fresh.

After freshening up, we had a buffet breakfast. The breakfast was tasty and the spread was good. Post breakfast, it was time to hit the road and explore Naini Taal. The rain had stopped, but it was still cloudy and misty all around, adding a very beautiful feeling of romanticism to the beautiful environment. We drove up to Himalaya viewpoint and beyond. Due to clouds, the Majestic Himalayan views eluded us. A small drive beyond that took us to the place with road and surroundings covered with a thin layer of snow. We had a nice time there, playing with little bit of snow.

Next stop was tiffin top. We had to park our car and trek for nearly 3-4 kilometre. It is an easy trek and when we reached the top, the views were great. It offered a bird's eye view of the entire city. There were a few eateries at the top. The hike had made everybody hungry so it was time for Maggie and Bun Maska. Both were good. After enjoying the beautiful vistas for some time, we headed back and the sun was also about to set. We came back to the hotel for evening tea.

Post-tea it was time for a stroll on the mall road and enjoying the lake. By the time we had finished the stroll on the Mall road, it was time for an early dinner. The Chef of the hotel needs a special mention and applaud here as he took feedback about the food from every guest after every meal even at 12.30 in the night. During breakfast he had asked for any special request, then I asked him if he can give us some taste of Kumaoni food. During dinner, though the buffet was set up with a good spread, he had prepared two Kumaoni dishes and Mandwa ki Roti. This was such a sweet gesture. The staff of the hotel were so courteous and were leaving no stone unturned to get the customers to visit them again.

Next day we were to move to Ranikhet and the comfy bed along with central heating ensured a very comfortable sleep and I got up very refreshed. A parting coffee at the balcony and then a hearty breakfast, we were ready for our next destination with a thought in mind to come again to enjoy Nainital as well as the resort again.
